Download the installer for your computer and run it.

Use your existing Explaino account. AI features draw on your Explaino credits.

Getting past the security prompt
The installers aren't code-signed yet, so Windows and macOS show a warning the first time you open Explaino. Here's how to continue.
Windows
- Run
Explaino-windows-x64.exe. - If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC”, click More info.
- Click Run anyway and follow the installer.
macOS
- Open the DMG and drag Explaino into your Applications folder.
- On first launch, if macOS says it can't verify the developer, right-click (or Control-click) Explaino in Applications and choose Open.
- Or go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.

Is Explaino Desktop free?
Recording and editing are free. AI features such as the voiceover script, AI voices and step-by-step articles use your Explaino credits.
Do I need an Explaino account?
AI features need you to sign in with your Explaino account, and they use the credits on that account.
Does the Chrome extension still work?
Yes. The Explaino Chrome extension keeps working as before, and it uses the same Explaino account.
Which operating systems are supported?
Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), and macOS 12 or later on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
