What is an interactive demo?

Definition

An interactive demo is a clickable, guided replica of a software product that lets a viewer explore key steps at their own pace without signing up. It is built from captured screens with hotspots and tooltips rather than played as a video.

When to use an interactive demo

Interactive demos suit websites and sales follow-ups where buyers want to try the flow themselves. Narrated videos suit storytelling, social channels, onboarding and anywhere a click-through can't be embedded.

Interactive demo vs. demo video

A video controls the pace and tells a story with voice. An interactive demo lets the viewer control the pace but usually has no narration. Many teams publish both from the same capture.
