What is microlearning?

Definition

Microlearning is training delivered in short, focused units — typically 1 to 5 minutes each — that teach one skill or answer one question, instead of long courses.

Why microlearning works for software

People learn software at the moment of need: they hit a task they can't do and want the answer now. A 2-minute video on exactly that task fits the moment; a 45-minute course does not.

Building a microlearning library

Break every process into single-task videos, pair each with its written steps and a short quiz, and organize by the job to be done rather than by feature. One screen recording can generate all three assets.
