Glossary

What is an onboarding video?

Definition

An onboarding video welcomes a new user or employee and shows them the first steps to get value: setting up an account, learning the core workflow, or finding help. It is usually the first video in a sequence.

Customer vs. employee onboarding videos

Customer onboarding videos aim at activation — the first successful use of the product. Employee onboarding videos cover tools, processes and policies. Both replace repetitive live sessions with content that scales.

Sequencing

Strong onboarding splits into short videos per milestone (set up, first project, invite your team) rather than one long tour, so progress is measurable and each video stays current independently.
