Hello! Today, we are going to learn how we can create agents using the Flow Builder.

Step by step

  1. 1

We will give our agent a name, which we'll simply call "test" for now. Then, we click on "Script" and "Create Agent." This action will redirect us. Now, we need to click on "Behavior." Here, you will see two options: "Legacy Prompt" and "Flow Builder." Legacy Prompt is the usual way. With the Flow Builder, we can create agents using different nodes. To create an agent in Flow Builder, we first need to design the entire script. After designing the entire script, we are going to break it down into different parts.

  2. 2

The first step is "Agent Identity." Here, we need to provide the agent's key identity, including its name and company name. We also define the agent's use case, role, and personality. After adding the agent's identity, we move on to the global rules section. In the "Global Rules" section, we will add all the core instructions that will be used throughout the entire script. These instructions dictate what the agent should follow, what it should do, and how it handles interruptions. This includes all the dos and don'ts for the agent.

  3. 3

All the instructions that the agent should follow throughout the entire script are added here. After that, we have the "Add Node" section. The "Add Node" section offers five different types of nodes, and each node has its own specific function. It determines what the opening message will be, similar to how we set up a welcome message in the legacy prompt. Next is the "Sub-agent" node. A sub-agent is designed to perform various tasks after the initial opening message. We can assign these specific tasks to the sub-agent.

  4. 4

The next part is the "Tool" node. This is used if you want to add a tool to our script. If the script involves any tasks to be done during or after the call, you can add a tool here. Next is the "Condition" node. This is used if you want to put any conditions for the agent. If the customer's name is correct, the agent follows a specific flow. If incorrect, or the wrong person answered, adjust accordingly.

  5. 5

So, we should politely ask for the name and then close the call. We can implement this kind of condition. The next node is "End Call." This node lets us specify where to end the call. Adding an "End Call" node closes the call at that point. So, we are going to create agents using all five of these nodes. Here, we also have export and import options available for our convenience.

  6. 6

After creating a particular flow, you can export the chart in JSON format. You can also import the same if you are creating any new flows. Here's an option if you want to expand the board to create an agent; we can expand it. After making changes, we can collapse it again. So, it will look like this. After making all the changes and once the flow is done, we can just click on "Save Flow," and it. We'll create a small agent using Flow Builder. First, define the initial option, which determines how the agent will open the call.

  7. 7

We will use the "Say" option. Click "Say" to add the agent's opening message. This defines the greeting, customizing it for a smooth, professional start. This initial message is crucial for setting the tone and gathering necessary information at the call's
